A wide-ranging promotional blitz is expected to help put the Mexican island of Cozumel on the travel map of several Canadian and U.S. cities with the launch of a new magazine –Cozumel Mexican Caribbean Island.

Cesar Trejo Vazquez, director of TVC Productions –the company in charge of getting the project done- remembered that the magazine first hit the newsstands four years ago under the title The Best in Cozumel, People and Places. Its fourth issue will have 200,000 annual copies.

The project is the end result of a 20-million-peso investment that relied on the help of over 20 supportive local companies linked to the leisure industry.

Mr. Vazquez explained there’s an office in Canada’s Ontario that will be in charge of distributing the magazine among different travel agencies and advertisement firms.

Moreover, he announced that Jorge Gamboa Patron, marketing director for Mexico’s Tourism Promotion Council in Toronto, has vowed to pitch a helping hand in the planning of several events aimed at targeting different segments.

The magazine is also being doled out in hotels, tourist centers and travel agencies in Cozumel, the Mayan Riviera and Cancun.
