Cozumel’s southern hotel area to have drinkable water supply soon

Construction works of the potable water supply network for Cozumel’s southern hotel area will get underway early next month with an initial investment coming from a program dubbed Prodder.
As we speak, the Drinkable Water and Sewerage Commission is catering to some 12,350 end users by pumping up the liquid to their homes and stores. As many as 16,502 cubic meters of water are drilled out of 191 deep wells every day.
Since the necessary infrastructure has never been built there, though, the island’s southern hotel area doesn’t count on this service, forcing hotelkeepers and residents in the village of Cedral to get water from tank trucks.
