Counterpart International Welcomes New Chairman

Robert J. Reynolds has been elected as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of Counterpart International, the non-profit Washington DC-based development and humanitarian organization.

Prior to his career in investment banking, Mr. Reynolds served as a legislative assistant for former U.S. Senator Malcolm Wallop (R-WY), working on tax legislation for the Senate Finance Committee.

He graduated with honors and a B.A. in Economics and Latin American Studies from Tufts University, received a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy in international economics from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and gained a graduate degree in business administration at Stanford University.

Reynolds serves on the board of The Mountain Institute and Canal Alliance and on the Advisory Council of the National Outdoor Leadership School.

Since 1965, Counterpart International, a non-governmental organization, has sought to build the capacity of local institutions to address community defined needs in sustainable ways.

Through service and partnership, Counterpart currently implements programs in 37 countries in the areas of economic development, agriculture, food security, social service capacity building, advocacy, healthcare, natural resource management and humanitarian assistance.
