Latin America’s professional golf circuit Tour de Las Americas and Copa Airlines –the region’s premiere air carrier- have just announced in Panama the continuation of their partnership for the 2002-2003 season.

“Once again, Copa Airlines is a sponsor of Tour de Las Americas. For our company, this stands for a magnificent opportunity to put our services and flight network through the continent at the beck and call of Latin American golfers,” said Felipe Fabregas, sales manager for Copa Airlines in Panama.

“For us, the extension of this partnership is wonderful news,” TLA commissioner Henrique Lavie averred. “As our travel partner, Copa Airlines can assure us top-rated services and great flights to our major destinations. Besides, and as part of the deal, Copa will offer preferential fares for our golfers in the future.”

“Golfers taking part in our tour come from all around the world, from such far-off places as New Zealand and Sweden. So, counting on a top-notch airline to arrange their trips is some kind of advantage. With Copa, we also guarantee on-time arrivals, a key routine among golfers,” Mr. Lavie concluded.

With more than 55 years of experience under its belt, Copa Airlines (www.copaair.com) flies to 29 destinations in North, Central and South America, as well as all around the Caribbean. Back in September 2001, Copa made the list of “Excellence 2001” in América Economía –the prestigious financial magazine published for the Spanish-speaking world- due to its “level of innovation, creativeness and leadership in the field of commercial aviation.” From the Americas Hub, its base in Panama’s Tocumen International Airport, the air carrier operates one of the most successful and efficient hub-and-spoke centers in all Latin America. Copa Airlines hopes to carry 1.2 million passengers in 2002.
