Copa Airlines Increases Flights to Panama from Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Orlando and Miami

Copa Airlines is increasing flight frequencies this week from three U.S. cities – Washington, D.C., Orlando and Miami – to the airline’s Hub of the Americas in Panama. Copa also added a second daily flight between Los Angeles and Panama on July 1. The new flights expand travel options to Central and South America and the Caribbean.

New Copa flight frequencies are: Washington, D.C. (Dulles) – one flight daily (up from 5/week); Orlando – 14 flights/week (up from 13/week); and Miami – 21 flights/week (up from 20/week). (Note to editors: See daily flight schedules at the end of this release.)
All flight frequency increases except that of Los Angeles are seasonal and will return to their pre-summer schedules in the fall.

“Our summer service expansions give passengers more travel options, whether they are traveling to visit family and friends or to conduct business,” said Fernando Fondevila, Copa Airlines regional manager, North America. “At our modern Hub of the Americas in Panama, they have a wide range of convenient and rapid connections throughout Latin America, with no customs or immigration waits for in-transit passengers.”

Copa Airlines’ U.S. flights are operated with Boeing 737-700 or 737-800 “Next Generation” aircraft. The 737-700 has 12 seats in the Executive Cabin and 112 in the main cabin; the 737-800 has 16 seats in the Executive Cabin and 144 in the main cabin. These comfortable, state-of-the-art aircraft feature spacious interiors, large overhead compartments and a 12-channel audio-visual entertainment system in English, Spanish and Portuguese, with new movies monthly and complimentary headsets. All Copa flights include complimentary meals, beverages, wines and spirits.
