Construction on Schedule at Dominican Republic’s Westin Roco Ki Property

The 337-room Westin Roco Ki Beach & Golf Resort in Punta Macao near Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic is on schedule to open in May as the first U.S.-branded resort in the region.

Facilities will include a Nick Faldo 18-hole signature golf course, an 18,000-square-foot spa with 15 treatment rooms, seven restaurants, four bars, a conference center, four pools, a Westin Kids’ Club, an aquatic sports complex, a wildlife sanctuary and an activities center.

Accommodations range from 32 bungalows to two- and three-bedroom condominiums, 20 cliffside villas and 157 rooms and suites. The area where the 2,700-acre resort property is located has been designated a nature site by UNESCO.

The resort will incorporate the heritage of the Caribbean’s pre-Columbian culture at its interpretive center where it will display Taino Indian artifacts found on the site.
