Condor Airlines Will Resume Flights to Antigua Next November
After months of intensive negotiations with the German airline Condor a contract was signed in Berlin during the ITB tourism trade fair. Condor will resume a weekly non-stop service on Mondays from Frankfurt to Antigua with effect from November 7.
The flight will create renewed interest in Antigua and Barbuda from tour operators in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Tour operators in Europe include TUI, the largest tour operator in Europe; will commence shortly the marketing of the country as The Heart of the Caribbean.
Tourism Minister, Harold Lovell, stated that the discontinuation of flights out of Germany in 2001 was a major setback for Antigua and Barbuda. That´s why –he stressed- the signing of the contract with Condor was a significant mile stone in achieving sustained growth in visitor arrivals.
