Combo Express by Sol Caribe Tours

The Combo Express presented by Sol Caribe Tours is a spanking-new tourist product that will hit the market on December 20. The new project will be the one-and-only opportunity to take a direct flight from Cuba all the way to Santa Maria Key and stay overnight at any of the cozy Sol Meliá hotels.

“The Combo Express comes to fulfil a longstanding desire: the chance of enjoying great combined stays in a country that sports some of the Caribbean’s finest beaches coupled with a rich culture, a magnificent history, well-preserved cities teeming with architectural heritage and a lavish, motley natural environment like the one you can find on quasi-unexplored Santa Maria Key,” Gabriel Garcia said while trumpeting the brand-new project.

Mr. Garcia of the Sol Meliá Cuba Division, speaking from the Tryp Habana Libre Hotel, unveiled the Combo Express project that now entitles participants to sign up for stays at any of the Spanish company’s three big resorts on the island nation (Meliá Cohiba, Meliá Havana and Tryp Habana Libre), plus the two new facilities the megabuck chain will operate on Santa Maria Key beginning in December.

Mr. Garcia went on to explain that the project’s success will be guaranteed by the professional service of Gaviota Tours and Aerogaviota Airline, the two enterprises that will take travelers to the Meliá hotels in those tourist circuits. The new project –he said- provides trippers with a different way of meeting Cuba and enjoying its many pleasures at full swing.

In the summer of 2004, operations will spread to other destinations like Holguin, Cayo Coco and Cayo Largo del Sur.

Flights to Cayo Largo del Sur and Holguin will kick off on May 5, 2004 every Wednesday and Sunday all through October 31 of that same year, with the possibility of getting a Havana-Cayo Largo-Holguin-Havana round-trip connection.

The connection between Havana and Cayo Largo won’t start until May 7 with a couple of weekly flights on Monday and Friday.
