Mr. Nieto strongly believes that one of Cartagena’s trump card to give tourism a definitive boost is the attention that cultural topics could rivet on themselves. “Foreign travelers could feast their eyes on the city’s natural and historical values, the hospitality of its residents, the warmth of its people and their everyday life.” Mr. Nieto expressed.

“We generate positive information on Cartagena and Colombia on a nonstop basis. All you have to do is read the papers from eleswhere.” Mr. Nieto explains the Film festival draws in thousands of visitors from a number of regions and countries.

“It’ll be great to think up cultural tourism projects for different times of the year and break the necessary ground to bring this major event back to life, an event that like the Caribbean Music Festival has made a great contribution to the city’s social development,” he concluded.
