CIE Tours Launches Escorted Tour of Spain
Building on the success of its vacation programs to Ireland, Britain, Italy, Eastern Europe and European river cruising, CIE Tours International is adding an escorted vacation to Spain to its 2009 repertoire, according to Brian W. Stack, managing director of CIE Tours International.
The new tour is featured on the CIE Tours’ website and in a new 40-page brochure Italy, Spain & Eastern Europe 2009. The new Spain tour, known as the Spanish Crown, is an 10-day/eight-night/10-meal vacation using first-class hotels. Departures are on Thursdays, twice monthly, from April 11 through Dec. 24, with land-only prices from $1,299.
Scenic highlights include the Guadarrama Mountains, the La Mancha region (legendary home of Don Quixote), the sherry wine-producing region of Jerez, and the gorge of El Tajo. Activities present the cultural highlights of Spain with walking tours of Toledo and Cordoba, and visits to the Prado Museum, Transito Synagogue, Santa Maria la Blanca Synagogue, St. Tome Church, Mosque of the Caliphs, Seville Cathedral, Alcazar Fortress, and Christopher Columbus’ Burial Place.
The price includes first class hotel accommodations with private bath for eight nights; eight buffet breakfasts and two dinners with wine and mineral water, sightseeing by luxury air-conditioned motor coach with an English-speaking tour director and local guides in all major cities.
