Chile Grows On with Havanatur
Through Feb. 24, PAL Airlines will be operating the Santiago de Chile-Varadero route with a couple of weekly flights. This airlift meets the increasing demand of Chilean visitors coming to Cuba’s top sun-and-beach travel destination during the high-peak season.
The route is being covered with 388-seat Airbus A-320 aircraft and jointly promoted by Havanatur Chile, Viajes Falabella and other tour operators. Havanatur Chile will take up over 60 percent of the lineal operation with an average of 245 passengers on each flight.
The local press gave news coverage to the inaugural flight of the air company’s fourth straight season in Varadero, a travel destination highly coveted by international visitors, especially those hailing from Europe, Canada, the Americas and the Caribbean.
Havanatur S.A. covered the opening flight as part of its PR actions within the framework of the company’s 35th anniversary and in a bid to continue its trendsetting growth with a portfolio of new products and openings in several markets. Havanatur Chile posted double-digit growth of 15 percent in 2012.
Varadero will be hosting the upcoming 33rd edition of the Cuba’s International Tourism Fair, slated for May 7-10, 2013.
