Central American Tourism School Could Open Soon

The opening of a Central American tourism school to train human resources from the entire travel industry is part of the projects the region´s countries have in the offing.

In order to pull this effort off, Central American nations are turning to international bodies and private individuals for financial help and donations. The money will be used to foster tourism-oriented programs and create new jobs.

Salvadoran Tourism Minister Luis Cardenal told the press there´s an impending need to conduct a number of tourist projects at a regional level and keep contributors posted on those projects and the Central American integration system.

Mr. Cardenal made this proposal during a meeting that gathered tourism authorities, representatives of international financial entities and European cooperation agencies at the headquarters of the Central America Integration System in San Salvador.

Experts have not reckoned the exact amount of money that needs to be shelled out, but they did talk about the need for increasing cooperation and advancing the cause of sustainable tourism development everywhere, especially in the rural areas.

Central American nations are well aware of the advantages the region has as a solid travel destination, a reason why they are working together to define a joint strategy for the near future.
