Carnival Names Robert Montgomery SVP-Global Human Resources
Carnival Corp. and plc named Robert “Jerry” Montgomery, a hospitality industry veteran, senior vice president of global human resources. In this position, Montgomery is responsible for corporate human resources strategies across Carnival Corp. and plc’s worldwide organization, which includes offices in North America, Europe and Australia.
He replaces Wayne Byers, who is retiring after 28 years in the cruise and travel industries. Montgomery reports to Howard Frank, Carnival Corp.’s vice chairman and chief operating officer.
Prior to joining Carnival, Montgomery spent 30 years at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, holding a number of senior-level positions, including vice president of employee relations, casting and health services. Most recently, he served as senior vice president-conservation and environmental sustainability for the company’s worldwide theme parks, Disney Cruise Line and vacation ownership properties.
For the past two years, Montgomery served as president of the Orlando Strategy Group Inc., a consulting firm focused on the fields of human resources, labor relations, and corporate social responsibility.
