Canada's Biggest Theme Waterpark Welcomes its Millionth Guest

A festive mood energized Calypso Theme Waterpark today as its millionth visitor crossed the turnstiles. Calypso Park's team gathered to congratulate and give an unforgettable welcome to the Weilbrenner-Masson family of L'Assomption, which received VIP treatment for its entire visit, including an exclusive gift, to fully enjoy the site's numerous attractions.

"Welcoming our millionth guest is a very symbolic moment for the entire Calypso team, said Mr. Guy Drouin, President and General Manager of Calypso Theme Waterpark. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our many guests who contribute to our theme waterpark's success with each visit. They give us the motivation we need to make Calypso Theme Waterpark the country's foremost summer entertainment destination."

Less than three years after its grand opening, Calypso Park confirms its status as a Canadian leader. Its success is reflected through the daily presence of thousands of guests from across the country, each seeking exciting attractions in a warm and enticing atmosphere with Caribbean flair.

Adventure-seekers and waterslide fans are all invited to enjoy Calypso Theme Waterpark's numerous attractions, available until September 3.

Calypso stands out through its sheer size, with an aquatic section covering over 100 acres and over 35 waterslides, 100 water games, the country's largest wave pool and all heated pools. These attractions, which include the new Jungle Challenge, Jungle Run River, Pirate's Aquaplay and Zoo Lagoon for kids, are each more impressive than the next and feature the latest in cutting-edge technology.

Officially opened in summer 2010 following an investment of over $50 million, this waterpark has had a remarkable freshman year and won several awards for the quality of its installations. This year is proving no different, as the company kicked off its season with two awards under its belt, namely Company of the Year, given by RGA, and Innovation of the Year, given by Ottawa Tourism. Calypso Theme Waterpark is located east of Ottawa, off Highway 417, and 75 minutes from Montreal.
