British Virgin Islands Introduce New Customs, Immigration Cards

The British Virgin Islands Immigration Department introduced new Embarkation and Disembarkation (ED) cards at all ports of entry in the destination.

Major distinctions of the new card system include gathering information about BVI tourists to compile strategic marketing details in order to target existing travelers and profile new ones. Survey questions also gauge the quality of service for various activities that guests experience during their BVI stay.

By assembling this valuable information, industry professionals of the destination will be able to improve the overall tourist experience and product in areas such as restaurants, hotels, ferry crew, immigration officers, shops, spas and taxi drivers.

The new implementation of the immigration card service inquiries follow in the footsteps of the Tourism Industry Service Standard (TISS) program initiated by the BVI Tourist Board to ensure quality service of key departments, including customs, as well as airport and port authorities.
