Beaches Turks & Caicos Reopens
Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa reopened Nov. 15, following its late summer closing due to Hurricane Ike. “We’re open, the resort has never looked better and we are on target to introduce our new Italian Village on Jan. 20,” said Butch Stewart, founder and chairman of Beaches Resorts.
The 453-room resort, which closed due to debris and landscape and cosmetic damage on Sept. 4, was refurbished inside and out. Redecorated guestrooms now have plasma screen TVs; pool areas have new furniture; restaurants were redone; a gym extension was added and a beauty salon installed.
Hurricane Ike delivered a wider beach that now has new Tiki huts and chaise lounges. The 162-suite, $125 million Italian Village will feature its own lobby, an expanded Pirate’s Island Waterpark, a retail complex and five more gourmet restaurants.
