Barcelona, Mexico to Have Direct Flight before Yearend

Barcelona will be connected via direct flight with a still undisclosed Mexican city before the end of the ongoing year, announced Pere Esteve, an advisor on trade, tourism and consumption for the Catalonia Generalitat.

Mr. Esteve explained the decision to create this new air bridge is in the interest of both the Catalonian and Mexican authorities in an effort to improve communication and economic prospects between this country and the Spanish region.

“We’ve reached a mutual commitment to have direct flights between Barcelona and a Mexican city, say, Mexico City, the Federal District, Cancun, Monterrey or Guadalajara,” Mr. Esteve concluded.
