Bahamas Tourism Appoints Vernice Walkine to Replace CTO´s Secretary-General-elect Vincent Vanderpool

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism moved quickly to fill the position of deputy general vacated by Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace, who was recently handpicked to head the Caribbean Tourism Organization as its new secretary-general.
Vernice Walkine, formerly deputy director-general of the Ministry, was named by tourism minister Obie Wilchcombe to succeed Vanderpool Wallace.
Walkine, a 26-year-veteran of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, is the first woman to move up the ladder as director-general on the island nation.
