BAA Says Committed to Improving Passenger Service
British airports operator BAA said on Wednesday it was committed to improving service standards, but warned that price controls proposed by the country’s competition watchdog would make that job harder.
Earlier on Wednesday, Britain’s Competition Commission criticized Heathrow and Gatwick for failing to manage security delays and also proposed a price control regime for 2008-2013.
“We are absolutely committed to improving the passenger experience in our airports and addressing the current concerns around customer service standards,” BAA, which is owned by Spanish construction group Ferrovial, said in a statement.
