Attendants to London’s WTM to whoop it up in Caribbean color, rhythms
Over 30 Caribbean destinations and nearly a dozen representatives from the private sector will showcase their products, their flashy cultures, arts, cuisine and music at the World Travel Marketplace that will stretch out from Oct. 10 to 13 in London.
Like in previous editions, the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) will oversee construction works, decoration and coordination at the Caribbean Villa. The WTM is penciled in as the world’s second-largest event of its kind after the Berlin ITB. For this year’s marketplace, a record number 189 countries will turn up in the British capital.
WTM organizers indicated they’ve got plans in the offing to add 5 percent more exhibiting space for participants at the London Excel Fairground once the event kicks off next Monday.
Last year’s WTM drew in more than 5,000 companies that showed their products in thousands of stands scattered in 36,850 square yards. Way over 45,000 visitors walked past the turnstiles in the 2002 WTM edition.
