ASUR Requests Green Light to Build, Operate Airport in the Mayan Riviera

The Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste, S.A. de C.V. (ASUR is the Spanish acronym) announced it has sought authorization from the federal government of Mexico, through the Secretary of Communications and Transportation (SCT), to build and operate an airport in the Mayan Riviera.

ASUR has not so far received a reply from the SCT and there is no assurance that Mexican federal authorities will respond favorably to this request.

Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste, S.A. de C.V. (ASUR) is a Mexican airport operator with concessions to operate, maintain and develop the airports of Cancun, Merida, Cozumel, Villahermosa, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Huatulco, Tapachula and Minatitlan.
