Art, Genre, Society, Power Scientific Conference in Santiago de Cuba
The Art, Genre, Society, Power Scientific Conference has taken place in Santiago de Cuba, November 19 – 21, an event sponsored by the Eastern University and Bordeaux Montaigne University, Bordeaux.
During the keynote speech, Doctor Jean Paul Jourdan, president of Bordeaux Montaigne University, delivered geographical, historical and cultural details on Aquitaine, a region nestled in the south west side of France, which has played an important role in the evolution of that European country.
The program included such matters as those related to the divorce and the evolution of family norms both in France and Cuba, same-sex marriage, the presence of women on Cuba’s Constitution, the legal culture of equality in terms of genre and women on national cinematography.
Other commissions have tackled aspects related to France, Europe, the Caribbean and francophone, Cuban and Caribbean artists, images and imagery of cities and audiovisual aids within the present context.
Omar López, Architecture National Award and director of the City Curator’s Office, is set to give a lecture on “Los Caminos del Café” project, developed by that entity and Malongo French-Belgium Foundation in order to preserve world-class heritage.
The meeting pays tribute to the 500th anniversary of Santiago de Cuba Village, 31st anniversary of the Art History specialty at the Eastern University and 36 years of relation between that institutions and Bordeaux’s.
