Argentina Bent on Conquering Europe´s Tourism
Seducing European travelers is the nitty-gritty of an ambitious promotional campaign Argentina is about to launch in Europe at an initial price tag of $15 million.
The publicity blitz will get cracking in Spain, Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom in an effort to strengthen cultural and trade ties with those countries.
Argentina is no doubt a very attractive tourist offer for European travelers, both in terms of prices and quality, Argentina´s Tourism Undersecretary Guillermo Brooks told Mexican news agency Notimex.
The city of Buenos Aires and an array of Argentine products, like wines and beef, are the main drives behind this campaign that´s expected to spend some $15 million.
According to Mr. Brooks, Argentine authorities have already inked a cooperation agreement with the National Institute for the Promotion of Beef (ICPV is the Spanish acronym), an organization that has committed itself to pitching a hand in this ad endeavor.
Beef is a major commodity in Argentina. This is one of the world´s finest meat products money can buy and we´re trying to showcase what the country has to offer to international tourists, Mr. Brooks commented.
The allures of Patagonia, the proximity to the South Pole and the advantages of mountain sports –when the Northern Hemisphere is in the summer season- are some of the attractions Argentina has in store.
Either way, Buenos Aires will be the brightest star of the show. This city boasts all the charms you find in European cities, coupled with superb quality service and a great cultural offer in which, of course, tango is the name of the game, Mr. Brook added.
