Antigua Resort Reopens under New Management

Colonna Resort in Antigua, formerly Sunsail Club Colonna, reopened for business March 19 under new management. The property closed in May 2009, citing fallout from the global financial crisis.

The beachfront resort is on Hodges Bay on Antigua’s northern tip. The beach and watersports operations are managed by Sunsail Sailing Vacations, a division of Sunsail, which is owned by travel conglomerate TUI Travel.

Sunsail offers a range of sailing classes and free clinics as well as children’s programs, including a Youth Sailing Club for kids between ages 8 and 17. Resort facilities include gardens, a pool, a restaurant and bar.

The rates for two adults start at $115 per person, per night. The rate for kids under 12 is $105 per person, per night. Rates include breakfast. An optional half-board plan includes several lunches and dinners for a weeklong stay.
