American Airlines, Airberlin Expand Codeshare Agreement

American Airlines and airberlin, which is about to join the oneworld airline alliance, have expanded their codeshare agreement to include airberlin’s new service between New York’s Kennedy International Airport and Berlin-Tegel. Airberlin will fly the route four times per week. GDSs will display the codeshared flights starting Friday, June 24.

American and airberlin have been codesharing since November 2010 on several trans-Atlantic routes, as well as U.S. domestic and intra-European flights. Recently, American added its code to airberlin flights in the following markets: Dusseldorf and Berlin-Miami and Dusseldorf-Fort Myers, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Airberlin recently added its code to American flights between Dallas/Fort Worth and Frankfurt, New York-JFK and Zurich as well as several U.S. domestic flights via American’s cornerstone hubs at Los Angeles Miami, and New York-JFK.
