Airlines to Connect the U.S., Costa Rica with New Routes

United Airlines and Delta Airlines have just announced the beginning of direct flights between the United States and Costa Rica in an effort to offer better connections for the latter’s travel industry.

United Airlines will open a nonstop weekly flight on December 18 between the cities of Chicago and San Jose, the Costa Rican capital.

The route between Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and the Juan Santamaria Terminal in San Jose will be covered with 182-seat Boeing 757 jetliners. In addition to this new connection, United operates a daily flight between Los Angeles and Costa Rica with a stopover in Guatemala City, as well as another flight to and from Washington D.C.

For its part, Delta Airlines will offer an additional nonstop weekly flight between the Costa Rican location of Liberia, in the province of Guanacaste, and Atlanta, in the state of Georgia, beginning on January 31.

From that date onward, Delta will provide the exclusive opportunity of flying seven days a week between Georgia and the province of Guanacaste.
