Air pollution on the rise in Santiago de Chile

Some areas in the Chilean capital are approaching top levels of polluting air-suspended particles caused by fuel-burning vehicles and other combustion processes.

The Hoya del Camino sector has reached 60 micrograms per square meter each day. The maximum established level is 65. This situation has prompted authorities from the Environmental and Natural Resources Department to take actions in order to prevent these effects from inflicting irreversible damage on the population.
