Air Jamaica Keeps Closing Offices

Cash-stripped Air Jamaica is closing down operations in Houston, Texas, next April as part of an ongoing restructuring program, which is designed to bring financial stability to the airline while improving its viability. As part of its program, the airline has already suspended service to Havana, London, Manchester and St. John´s in Antigua.

Air Jamaica is also reducing the frequency of flights on other routes; five aircraft are being returned, and the restructuring team is reviewing other ways to reduce operating expenses."

The airline´s top executives have said that Air Jamaica is important to the country´s economy and is a source of pride for the Jamaican people, and everything will be done to ensure that it survives and becomes viable.
