Air Canada: So Far, So Good in 2005
Air Canada has been up, up and away so far this year, putting new record highs on the board in terms of seat occupancy (79.8 percent), and climbing notch after notch in seat availability (up 1.7 percent) and passenger-mile ratio (6.4 percent).
As far as domestic flights are concerned, Air Canada shot up 3.5 percent. Load factor in the case of the Buenos Aires-Toronto route, for instance, overshot the 82-percent benchmark.
In addition to good outcomes in the Argentina and Uruguay routes, the company undertook a serious internal makeover in recent months and either resumed or enhanced its flights to Buenos Aires, Lima, Rome, Beijing and Seoul.
Air Canada is now reaching out to 150 cities across the world and carrying over 42 million passengers every year.
