Air Canada Reports 11.8 Percent Drop in Quarterly Income

Air Canada reported third-quarter operating income of $270 million compared to operating income of $306 million in the third quarter of 2010, a decrease of $36 million, or 11.8 percent.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortization and impairment, and aircraft rent of $535 million decreased $45 million from the same quarter in 2010. Net income per diluted share, adjusted to remove the impact of foreign exchange, was $0.55 in the third quarter of 2011 compared to $0.70 in the third quarter of 2010.
