Air Canada to Add 450,000 Seats from Toronto This Summer

Air Canada announced that it will add 450,000 seats to and from its Toronto hub this summer, including new daily service to four major international destinations. The expansion is part of a system-wide capacity increase for summer 2011 that will result in additional international, transborder and domestic flying.

Expanded service includes Santiago/Buenos Aires, daily (from five times per week), May 2; Madrid, daily (from five times per week), June 8; Copenhagen, daily (from five times per week), June 15; Dublin, daily (from six times per week), June 29; Barcelona, six times per week (from three times per week); and Athens, four times per week (from three times per week), July 1.

The additional capacity will result in more service from points across Canada in all three of Air Canada's major market segments. New service highlights for summer 2011 include New Orleans-Toronto, daily (extended winter service), immediate; Montreal-Sept-Iles, daily non-stop, March 7; Tokyo-Calgary, five times per week from three times per week, March 26; London-Montreal, doubles to twice daily, May 23; Paris-Montreal, extended double daily service, June 1; Gander-Toronto, June 18; Toronto-Vancouver, 18th daily flight, June 18; and Montreal-Vancouver, sixth daily flight, June 24.
