Air Berlin to Reduce Long-Haul Routes by 30 Percent

In response to record-high fuel costs, German carrier Air Berlin will cut its domestic service 10 percent and its long-haul service 30 percent. Air Berlin is Germany’s second-largest airline, after Lufthansa.

One of the route casualties will be Dusseldorf-New York Kennedy, which Air Berlin will ax this winter (the airline did not give an exact date). The airline will also eliminate flights to Beijing and Shanghai this winter.
