Aeromexico Reports 1.2 Million Passengers in January 2013

Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B de C.V., the largest intercontinental airline in Mexico, reports operating statistics for January, 2013. Grupo Aeromexico transported 1 million 215 thousand passengers in January; a 1% year-on-year increase. International passengers grew 6.2% while domestic passengers decreased 1.2%.

The Company's demand, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPKs), increased 2.1% and capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), increased 5.3% year on year. January's load factor was therefore 74.8%.

According to the latest report published by the DGAC (Direccion General de Aeronautica Civil – Mexico's National Aviation Authority), Grupo Aeromexico had 35% of the domestic market and 14% of the international market in the month of December, 2012. For the full year, Grupo Aeromexico had 26% of the total market, with 38% of the domestic market and 14% of the international market.
