Aeromexico Reestablishes Delta Codeshare Flights to U.S.
Now that the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has raised Mexico’s aviation safety rating to Category 1, Aeromexico will reestablish its codeshare flights with its U.S. airline partner as of Dec. 11. The airline will reinstate its 45 daily codeshare flights with Delta Air Lines.
The new daily service Aeromexico recently announced to New York effective Dec. 6 (one additional flight for a total of four daily Aeromexico flights in the market), Miami (one additional flight for a total of four daily Aeromexico flights in the market), Chicago (one additional flight for a total of three daily Aeromexico flights in the market), Los Angeles (one additional flight for a total of five daily Aeromexico flights in the market), and Las Vegas (one additional flight for a total of two daily Aeromexico flights in the market), are now part of the airline’s permanent schedule.
The airline will add two daily frequencies to San Antonio, Texas, as of Jan. 11, 2011. This added service will raise Grupo Aeromexico’s offering between Mexico and the U.S. to 434 weekly flights.
Aeromexico also plans to add an additional 5 percent offering to its domestic service as of December, while also adding a daily flight between Mexico City and Montreal as of Dec. 15, plus two additional weekly flights between Mexico City and Sao Paulo for a total of nine flights per week, plus five additional weekly flights between Mexico City and Buenos Aires for a total of 10 flights per week. The airline plans to open the Toronto, Vancouver, Guatemala, El Salvador, Panamá and Caracas stations in the first half of 2011 to further consolidate its position in the international market.
