Acapulco Offers Tax Refund Service at Airport

The Acapulco Destination Marketing Office, which recently launched a new tourism campaign, announced the opening of a TaxBack module at the Acapulco International Airport. TaxBack, a provider of tax refund services in Mexico, will use the module to process tax refunds for international travelers. Acapulco is the eighth destination in Mexico to receive a TaxBack module.

Shoppers in Acapulco are eligible to receive tax reimbursements on purchases made at TaxBack-affiliated shops that retail for over $1,200MX ($90), including tax and no more than $3,000MX ($225) if paid for with cash, but does not include a limit if purchased with a credit card.

To receive the tax reimbursement on their purchases, shoppers must visit the TaxBack module that is located at the Acapulco International Airport where their refund request is processed. Once the request has been presented and validated by the TaxBack representatives, shoppers will receive their tax repayment via transfer to a debit or credit card.
