AA Implements Holiday Baggage Restrictions for Caribbean
During the holiday travel period to the Caribbean, American Airlines will once again limit the size and number of checked bags and prohibit checked boxes. American has a year-round box embargo for passengers traveling from or through New York to all Caribbean destinations.
The limits, which also apply to American Eagle, will be in effect from Nov. 29 through Jan. 10. During this period, boxes will not be accepted, and baggage will be limited to two checked items and one carry-on. American’s checked-bag fees are $15 for the first bag and $25 for the second bag.
Excess, overweight and oversized baggage will not be accepted on flights to the destinations covered in the bag embargo. Sports equipment, such as golf bags, bikes and surfboards, may be checked as part of the total checked-bag allowance, although additional charges may apply.
