The tourism boards in Britain, France and Scotland are ready to promote the locations, attractions and packages related to the motion picture adaptation of Don Brown´s novel “The Da Vinci Code,” set to be released May 19.

From a dedicated Web site, www.visitdavincicode.com, visitors have the opportunity to view behind-the-scenes secrets from different locations from the movie, download “The Da Vinci Code” movie map, with locations, key destinations and related attractions spotlighted, and view movie trailers.

Packages with Eurostar rail, Novotel hotels and Gray Line tours can be created, enabling visitors to follow in the footsteps of the films´ characters.

As the May 19 opening of the movie version of the blockbuster novel “The Da Vinci Code” nears, a number of U.S. wholesalers are getting in on the gathering craze by marketing official Da Vinci Code packages, licensed by Columbia Pictures through Eurostar, an official promotional partner of the film company.

Rail Europe, Eurostar´s North American sales agent, has licensed a number of tour operators to create and market packages using the name “The Da Vinci Code.”

Rail Europe also launched a sweepstakes offer for travel agents rewarding the winner a five-night trip to London and Paris, with spending money.
